Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the organizing committee, it is my utmost pleasure to invite you to the International Conference on Internal Friction and Mechanical Spectroscopy (ICIFMS-19). The official language of the Conference is English.
Due to the unfavorable course of the pandemic, it is not possible to hold the ICIFMS-19 in 2021 in the usual face-to-face mode. The majority of the members of the Conference Committees and of the colleagues we polled greatly prefer the face-to-face format to the virtual mode and therefore we decided to postpone the event again for one year. If this will not be possible again, we will organize the conference online without further delay.
The 19th International Conference will be held from June 27th to July 1st, 2022, at the National University of Science and Technology "MISIS", Moscow, Russia. The official language of the Conference is English.
The conference is the 19th in a series that began in Providence (USA) in 1956 and continued in Ithaca (USA, 1961), Manchester (England, 1965), Providence (USA, 1969), Aachen (Germany, 1973), Tokyo (Japan, 1977), Lausanne (Switzerland 1981), Urbana (USA, 1985), Beijing (China, 1989), Rome (Italy, 1993), Poiters (France, 1996), Buenos Aires (Argentina, 1999), Bilbao (Spain, 2002), Kyoto (Japan, 2005), Perugia (Italy, 2008), Lausanne (Switzerland 2011), Hefei (China, 2014) and Foz do Iguaçu (Brazil, 2017).
The ICIFMS-19 is a great opportunity for the exchange of experiences, innovative ideas, and research focused on theory, advances and applications of internal friction and mechanical spectroscopy, dynamic-mechanical analysis, high and low damping materials and new techniques of internal friction and mechanical spectroscopy. We also encourage and invite scientists from neighboring research fields to share their expertise, which will make ICIFMS-19 an event not to be missed.
The Conference program will consist of plenary, invited, oral talks and poster presentations. Abstracts for oral presentations and poster sessions will be evaluated in relation to the quality and impact. ICIFMS-19 and the Journal of Alloys and Compounds (Impact factor 5.316 in 2020) will publish conference papers as regular articles in a Special Issue. All submitted papers are the subject of peer reviewing according to the Journal rules.
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we wish you all the best and hope to see you in Moscow.
Igor S. Golovin,
Chairman of ICIFMS-19
